New tyre fitted

Got a new tyre, unfortunately not a Venom X my tyre of choice, fitted a Full Bore a so called American tyre, but made in Korea, anyway done a 100 miles plus on it and seems fine to me, but I'm no tyre expert all I know is it cost me €90 fitted instead of €160 for the venom,...... Photo's a nice unexpected November day warm but windy,.. @ Malin Head,

One year on...

Didn't think I would get this far, in one year, the plan was for three, the long Irish winter and notorious  bad weather helped, nuffin to do but work in the garage.....which is ok

Polished Tank.... almost

Against all I have said., I decided to polish the tank while sitting in the garage after a few ciders, Tcut and Turtle Wax many times over, looks ok, but still not sure, will decide at a later date......

New timer cover

Got a new timing cover for the Sportster so the old one fits fine on the Strugis, looks good.....

Oil leak what Oil leak

Found out my oil leak wasn't a oil leak, it was back pressure from the crankcase breather which wasn't connected to the air filter and shoved down between the primary and gear box, so got a wee breather filter off Ebay, just need to figure were to route it now. this looks the best bet (top left)

Tank nearly finished

Nearly finished the Tank, but will have to stay matt black, no cash to get painted for now,..

Fuel Gauge

Been a bit pissed off about rear axle, shortage of cash, back to non riding restoring project, so decided to get on with it, was reminded I'm lucky to have two Harley's by a friend ... any way, took the gauge out to replace a wire that was previously bad repair and found  rust my nemesis....

Bad Day Today....

Was out on a wee run today, a couple of days ago, the stator/alternator was giving trouble, so deciding on doing myself or getting someone to fix, on the way home over took a couple of cages thought I felt a rear wheel wobble put it down to the bad road a few miles on felt it again, and shit must be a flat, went the back round over the bog road home as wasn't far to the garage, when in the garage my heart dropped wasn't a flat a rear wheel bearing had collapsed and the rear wheel was loose, only 20 mins before was doing 85+ miles an hour, now the spindle is stuck solid in the rear wheel..... BASTARD ,WEE bit mad, oh well we will fix it...

Trying to get bastard spindle out......!!!!

Jeezus, 300 miles already how time flies....

Been enjoying The Sturgis, done just under 300 miles already, checked and change the gearbox oil today lucky I did, only about half a cup full of oil drained out, them Harley gearbox must be solid, done 120 miles to a bike show last weekend, with that in the gearbox, well full of new fresh oil now....

Couple of photos, while checking under for leaks..

Just happened to have the camera at hand while checking leaks laying on the floor.. :-)

Been Busy "Ridin"....

Done 120 mile on her already, how time passes, been sorting out a few wee oil leaks one on the cracked Derby cover, will have too get a new one eventually, and another sorted was coming from the drain plug so after service that was cured, had judder on front when braking headstock bolt tightened that cured that problem, so a few photos of the last few days........ Taxed and on the Road

Finally got her taxed today and took a run into town, tried to bleed the rear brake but not much fluid coming through, so looks like maybe a rear master cylinder rebuild kit and complete system clean...

Well on the bright side at least I can ride her now, but still plenty of work to do.

Brakes.....

Took her for the first run last week, and no brakes, took off front and rear callipers cleaned pads and pistons, discs, when I checked rear reservoir hardly any fluid, and looked like static pond water, the front had some ok but bits of dirt in it, so complete fluid changes next job, but since new plugs in her she starts great now.... "Getting There"....!!!
New deadline for first  run on the road, 2nd of April because I'm superstitious, Cant wait, been a long winter in the garage....
